Who’d a thunk it? Think of the money David Blaine is saving by not eating for 44 days. For me that’s got to be worth thousands at McDonalds.
But Mr. Blaine
has brought so much attention ? good and bad ? to his site that the
police have had to work overtime to protect him from golf balls, naked
men and women, men with cable cutters and the occasional egg thrower.
Well, the folks at Scotland Yards will apparently charge him for the police presence his stunt has required.
Reuters quoted the police as saying, “We have now asked the organizers to pay as it is having a considerable effect on (the local police authority) Southwark,”
“We are also considering the public order implications of this event..” The second part of Sir Stevens’ statement gives one pause. Will he be charged or cited for causing such a stir?
