Last week, we started a joke and looked to the loyal, but apparently sicko, readers of Inside Magic to furnish the punch line. The best punch line would receive a Johnny Thompson Video on Close-Up magic.
Well, we have a winner.
Here was the set-up:
A magician walks into a bar with his top hat between his knees. He waddles up to the counter and motions for the bartender.
?What can I get you, buddy?? The barkeep asks.
?I?ll take an orange juice and dirty water in a mason jar.?
The bartender looks around the bar and stares at the top hat between the magician?s knees.
?You a magician?? The bartender asks.
The magician nods, takes the drink, guzzles it and puts on his top hat.

Bozeman, Montana wanted to have a high-class series of shows for the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse this year. They got their wish with the Broadway in Bozeman series. The series was sponsored by local businesses and city leaders.
David Copperfield fans had to wait in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse lobby for 50 minutes while his crew finished setting up for the show ? something that seems to happen in many venues where Mr. Copperfield appears for only one day.
“David Copperfield was tremendous,” said Dick Walter, the major sponsor of Broadway in Bozeman. “I know it’s all illusion, but boy, it was phenomenal.”

The 1960?s star of To Sir with Love,Lulu, gave words to describe how we feel about Tim Ellis and Sue-Anne Webster?s DVD Ellis in Wonderland:
“Those schoolgirl days of telling tales and biting nails are gone
But in my mind I know they will still live on and on
But how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn’t easy, but I’ll try.”
Okay, the lyrics don?t fit this scenario literally. We haven?t been schoolgirls since that one night in Tijuana and even that was just to entertain our Navy enlisted before they shipped out.And really we never got into perfume or biting nails ? at least not our own.
The point Lulu was trying to make, however, is applicable to this review: how do you thank someone who helps you make a quantum leap in understanding.
Actually, forget the whole Sidney Portier ? Lulu image.Who knows where that came from. We?d change the first paragraph if it wasn?t already published.
Ellis in Wonderland has the same high production values seen in their spectacular Living Next Door to Ellis. The presentation and method sections are shot with multiple camera angles and the editing makes sense. Is there anything more frustrating than watching an one-camera video lecture?Yeah, how about a multiple angle video where each cut takes the viewer on a time-warped… Continue reading Ellis in Wonderland – A Review
