One of our favorite posters on Ring2100 is Harris Deutsch.  He calls himself the ?Laughologist  and Nearly Normal Magician/Ventriloquist.?  His mission, ?Bring Magic and Laughter to the World, One Group at a Time.? 

In his day job, he works as a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist and his abilities as a Laughologist, Magician and Ventriloquist clearly come in handy for this important position.  He uses his talents to bring the message to the community; with the hope the community will help spread the news. 

Mr. Deutsch worked as a counselor in Kansas’ Oldest Bed and Breakfast. It was also known as Lansing Correctional Facilities Maximum Security Prison.  While we?ve been in lots of prisons in our day, we never met a ventriloquist. 

(Well, actually we sort of did but he wasn?t really throwing his voice into a dummy, just a different part of himself.  It?s a long story and currently the subject of a lawsuit so I?ll leave it there.  Ironically, that?s exactly what the ventriloquist said.) 

Mr. Deutsch has an ability to write funny but substantive stuff.  This is a tough combination of talents and he shares them so ably on the Ring2100 listserve. 

His latest conquest was for charity.  In his role as an R-7 COMBAT (Community-Backed Anti-Drug Tax) Prevention Specialist, he participated in the Lee?s Summit Community Foundation?s ?Sing for Your Supper.?
