Answering a Request for Dorothy Dietrich Information

 dorothy-bullet-catch
We received an inquiry from a young magician/magic fan, Angela.

My name is Angela and I am 12.

I chose Dorothy Dietrich as the person I wanted to do my report on due to her being so interesting. I am unable to find information on her needed for the report (birth day, hometown, ect.)

Can you point me in the right direction for articles that might help me?

Thank you so much.

Huge fan,
Angela

Thank you, Angela.  We are huge fans of Ms. Dietrich as well.

Some have said we're obsessed.

We don't care what others think because we like those people who like us first — so we have few friends but that's okay.

Sorry, we went off the campground there for a second.

Here are some links to some of the many stories we've written about Ms. Dietrich, Dick Brooks and their incredible Houdini Museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Eight Letters for Great Magic Attraction

Dorothy Dietrich

True magic fans knew the answer to 23 Across in this Sunday's New York Times Crossword Puzzle. It was an eight letter word with the clue "Home of the Houdini Museum."

Give up? We thought it was a metaphorical question and said, MEMORIES.

If the clue read, "Location of the Houdini Museum" or "Town in Which Houdini Museum is Physically Located" we would had this one cold.

SCRANTON is the answer.

We can't believe we thought it was MEMORIES. What were we thinking?

Dick Brooks and Dorothy Dietrich own one of the finest museums in the magic world. It is more than just a bunch of Houdini's tricks thrown into a room and exposed to the world. The Houdini Museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania is an act of love.
