The Mid County Chronicle (TX) tells us Magician
Julian Franklin will kick-off the Groves Public Library's 2006 Summer
Reading Club Program today.
Mr. Franklin works as an Educational Entertainment
Specialist. He developed the
entertainment bug at a young age performing puppet and magic shows.
He worked as a teacher for 16 years (eight in the private
sector and eight as a public school teacher in the Lone
Star State).
Even whilst teaching, Mr. Franklin acted in faculty plays
and performed as a semi-professional dancer with The Woodlands Civic
Ballet.
Mr. Franklin took the big dive in 2001 when he figured a way
to combine his love for teaching with his ability and passion for performing to
create a full-time career.
Mr. Franklin "writes all the shows with the help of the
incredible faculty he's assembled as well as the occasional help of other
consultants hired for specific projects."
The name is probably familiar to most readers of Quinlan's
Inside Magic. If you are a member of the
IBM, you have likely read Mr. Franklin's column on the business of magic in the
organization's monthly magazine The
Linking Ring.
Or maybe you know Mr. Franklin's name from the shelf-load of
books he has written on the business of magic and effects that fit perfectly
for a magic or business performance.

He is a man of diverse backgrounds and so it makes sense he
